Heritage Open Days - A Talk by the Curator of the Florence Nightingale Museum
Learn about the ins and outs of everyday life for nurses attending the Nightingale Training School. Discover the world of schedules and teaching, nurses’ caps and starched uniforms, and what it took to earn the Nightingale Badge.
Tonight’s themed talk will be led by Hannah Amos, the curator of the Florence Nightingale Museum. Hannah will delve into the history of the Nightingale Training School and some of it key figures, as well as exploring the school’s link with St Thomas’ Hospital and the Florence Nightingale Museum. There will also be special, rarely displayed Training School artifacts on site for visitors to view.
A cash and card bar will be available throughout the evening with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options available.
